I ordered a Filofax Malden Pocket Leather Organizer Grey from Pens & Leather.
Shipped on 8/29/12 Received 9/01/12
I call her Mrs. Malden. I was surprised to see my Filofax come in a black box. I felt even more excitement to open the lid. And as soon as I did, I got a big whiff of that leather scent. Kind of reminiscent of sitting in a new car. I admired it's look and it looked like a mature woman in her late 20's early 30's, whose got her life together. A bit like me I would say. I felt that instant connection! I knew then I had to call her Mrs. Malden.
Inside that box I found the lovely filofax black box!
Here is when I opened the lid.
It came with a 2012 WO2P diary refill and 2013 WO2P Calendar Diary set
Here is the full length exterior pocket.
This is why I got the pocket, to use as a wallet/ planner.
The color is darker than I expected. The leather is soft. Different from my Pocket Adelphi which I would say has a more firmer leather.
I love your photos! And thank goodness for good packaging! Probably a silly question really, but how... well, *nice* is the grey compared to the other colours? I really am so tempted by a Malden, but the only one I can find at a half-decent price is grey, and I'm just not sure if it's as nice as the other colours. Sorry if that's the most impossible question ever! And thanks for the post!
ReplyDelete@Shadow Wolf - Thank you for visiting my blog! I'm glad to like the photos. =) I chose the grey because I wanted a color that would go with any color refill. I knew I didn't want to get a black one because I wanted something different. I think the color varies, not all the greys look the same either. I hope this helps.
DeleteI just bought a Malden pocket from Ebay. I can't wait until it gets here.
ReplyDelete@Crystal - I'm sure you'll fall in love with it like I did. =)
DeleteI love love love the grey. I bought a pocket grey Malden from Philofaxy adspot and I couldn't be happier with it. (except for the fact that a pocket doesn't really work for me as a daily planner but I use it as a wallet with notepaper and keep all those extra store cards and coupons). I ordered a black personal Malden and sent it back because the finish was so crinkly and rough to the touch. Disappointing. Somehow I thought the black with be very smooth like the grey but it was not. All depends on your preference. I don't think I would mind the crinkly look on the ochre but not what I was hoping for in the black. The grey is very dark grey, darker than I expected. But I actually love it; its a rich color. But if like a more neutral, medium grey then you may think its too dark. For some reason, it seems as if the leathers on the Maldens all vary by color. The grey seems to be very smooth and un-wrinkley on all 3 sizes.
ReplyDelete@Cheryl - I totally agree on everything you said about the grey malden.
DeleteThe grey pocket Malden is lovely just as you show in your great photos. However if you get a chance check out the purple. I have an A5 one. The leather has a totally different look and feel to the grey however the styling is the same. The colour is luscious too, deep and blackcurrenty
ReplyDelete@SiriusX - I'm glad you enjoyed the photos! I'm hoping to get a Purple Malden soon. =)
