November Month in Review 2012

Here is my review for the month of November 2012. The month started off with my birthday.
During this week, I got my first tattoo. I've been wanting one for a long time. Now that I'm older and have had some time to really think about what I was going to put on my body for the rest of my life, I went ahead and got it done as a birthday gift for myself.
The plan is to get 3 roses. I got a rose because it is my favorite flower. Red roses symbolize love, sacrifice, beauty, courage, passion, & respect.  I will get three because (3) is my favorite number.  Also because it will represent  1) Past/ Light - Rosebud 2) Present/ Love - Half bloomed rose 3) Future/ Life -   Fully bloomed rose (DONE)  This week I had a summons for Jury Service, I had to call the court everyday to see if I was going to be summoned in or not. I was also having my filofax frustration, whether to switch to a pocket or not. I have decided to use my pocket as a travel filofax for when I go on vacation. This was…

Where creativity happens - My Office/ Craft Room #2

Here is my desk area. I wish my desk had more space, but my pc takes up a lot of room. My embellishment center is right above me, easily accessable to my stickles, ink pads, stamps, & more pens which I store in small pen boxes. I have a cork board for my kid's school schedule, and my copic marker color chart.
Here is inside my drawers:
1st drawer contains: my washi tape, some paper clips, post-its, adhesives, and my smash stamp.

2nd drawer: small paper trimmer, paper pads, tags, tabs, stapler, calculator, RAPESCO hole punch, rulers.  3rd drawer: My Filofax drawer which holds inserts, calendars, dividers. And a bigger 3 ring hole punch.

On my desk sits my holder of pens, highlighters, sharpies, scissors, and glue. To the side of that is standing shelf for more paperwork, more pens, and my current filofax.
Last but not least, my daughter's desk area. To the left I have a tower to store all her stamps, homework, stickers, notebooks, paper, coloring books.
I used th…

Where creativity happens - My Office/ Craft Room #1

I wanted to share with you all a room in my house. I am very proud of this room because it is my sanctuary, where all my creative ideas come out, where I keep all my crafts, my "woman cave". Sometimes, I am in here at wee hours of the night, brewing up cards, blogging, writing in my Filofax. I try to keep it organized and easily accessible, though my daughter also shares this room with me. I have given her some space to also do her coloring and help her with her creations. I hope to give you all ideas on how to organize your creative space. Enjoy!

Starting from the Left is a bookcase from Ikea called SMADAL. It holds my books and small trinkets from weddings, birthdays, & other special occasions.

Next to that are ITSO storage cubes from Target. On the top sits my Lamiator &Spellbinders Grand Calibur. I will focus on this in a bit.

Then, I have a Closetmaid Drawer Cabinet base also purchased from Target. It holds a cricuit expression a friend is loaning to me. Inside…

2012 - Christmas Card #2

Here's another Christmas Card I did. Similar to the first one I did. I used the same materials just a different stamp and changed a few things. The paper was cut using my Spellbinders Grand Calibur. I used Spellbinder's Nestabilities - Labels Eight Die.

Filofax Adventures Part. 2

This was actually a craft store adventure which turned into a Filofax finding! WHO KNEW?!?  I was looking for a store called Stamp You Heart Out in Claremont, CA. I got a little lost and saw a little store called Cloud 9. It looked like a card/stationery shop, so I figured why not check it out. I'm already here anyway. If you are looking for customzed invitations and cards, then this is the perfect place! They had a nice display of examples they can do. You can also order customized stamps. They had a nice selection of specialty papers as well. But what caught the corner of my eye was a little Filofax display! What? I had this little bit of excitement, I could tell the sales lady thought I must have been crazy. Here I was, the only one in the store, and I wanted to scream for joy. For the first time, I got to see and touch a small selection of Filofaxes. They had some Classics, Finsburys, Metropols, Chameleons and Flexes. Also, they had refills and inserts. I was able to really see…

Filofax Adventures Part.1- Swain's

I find that living in the US, it is hard to come across Filofax products. When I do find a place that sells them, it's like I've found  - TREASURE!!! I always envy others, especially those in the UK, because they have great places to get Filofaxes and other Filofax products. I am going to start a new segment called Filofax Adventures. When I do find a place, or have a Filofax discovery, I will do my best to post about it. I hope you all enjoy. I do live in Southern California, so most of my findings will be around this particular area.

I looked on "Find a Retailer" on the FilofaxUSA website first. I saw that this particular store had a Gold Account, so I was expecting to see a decent selection of Filofax products.

So, my first adventure was to visit: Swain's Art Supplies & ToyFun in Glendale, CA.

I was very dissapointed. I was surprised to see NO FILOFAXES. Unless, I didn't see them? I went into the Planner/ Organizer section. All the had were inserts/ …

Filofax frustrations!@#$%^&*

It's not planner fail. It's planner frustration I'm having. Just going to ramble on here. Hope I figure something out. I'd love to hear your suggestions. I was in my Personal Holborn.

My dilemma:
Love the all the pockets/ Don't like the back pocket, wish it was like the Malden/Baroque.Love my set-up/Carrying around too much information that I don't need. Love the leather/ Really wish it was PURPLE! Love my dividers/ Feels so bulky and getting heavyLove the writing space/   Current solution: Using two filofaxes: Personal Holborn (stays at home) and go back to the Pocket Malden.

My dilemma:

Not loving the pockets. No were to put my cards. Using pocket credit card holders/ making it a bit bulky. Rings are in the way when I writePen loop is *thumbs down* so stiff it can't hold the pens I want. Nice and compact in my hand. I don't really carry around a bag. I have a small crossbody I use every now and then. Too much to carry with two kids. Already carry a hea…

October Month in Review 2012

First, I would like to say thank you to all who enjoy my blog. I am sorry I do post as often as I would like, but I hope you all continue to visit here. Secondly, I would like to start something new. I don't know if someone already has this idea. I started doing my weekly Filofax reviews, and I noticed Angela @ Paperlovestory wasn't too happy about this. I hope she doesn't think I "stole" her idea. I definitely don't want to copy her. I thought other people would like to see how I plan my life for the week, this is to give others ideas on how to use their planner. I am a big fan of Angela's posts so with respects to her and what she does, I have decided instead of doing a weekly review, I will start doing an end of the month review.

Here, I started using the mead inserts that I had bought from Target and with a suggested from one of my readers I cut them to fit.
I use the monthly calendar on two pages to keep track of my husband's schedule, mine, &a…
