Filofax! You broke my heart!

Today, I received one of the worst emails I've ever gotten:

Hi,
we are sorry to inform that unfortunately organiser Baroque Personal code 024202 is sold out (out of stock before the arrival of your order).
Please inform us urgently in you want something alternatively (at about the same price).
Otherwise, we will cancel your order and nothing will be debit in your card.
Sorry again

I immediately asked if they would resto. And they said, "No, sorry".

I guess I the search continues...
My worst nightmare came true instead. This is one sick dream. Just horrible!

    1. I've just started to sponsor a child via my local church who lives in Brazil where there is a high rate of child prostitution, not enough food or water, limited education, most of the adults are unemployed, if they manage to find employment they earn the equivelant of £47 a month, now that breaks my heart!!

    2. why don't you, guys, stop following this blog then and follow something else instead? I don't get what the point is of finding a blog dedicated to filofax written by someone who is obviously passionate about it and then whining that the person talks about filofax! Go and have your hearts broken and imaginations broadened elsewhere if you hate it so much.

    3. Dear Mr. Ray Blake,
If you haven't already noticed, this blog is about Jennifer's love of filofaxes. Please take your shallow comments elsewhere. Thank you.

    4. Kathy, I don't know if you noticed but you're a little late to this. We've all moved on. 'Shallow' is good, though. Well done. I have much respect for Jennifer and her skills that you'll see throughout this blog. But it felt it appropriate to tease the melodrama on show here. As I say, we've all moved on.

  3. Oh I know the pain of eagerly anticipating the arrival of a new Filofax only to receive the dreaded email that your order has been delayed or worse cancelled. I ordered an A5 Purple Malden in February with a shipping date of mid-March then received an email that it won't ship until mid-April. Good luck with your continuous hunt for the elusive Baroque!

  4. That happened to me with the warm orange personal Metropol with a US stationer, ugh!! FF Italy had it but the shipping doubled the price. No luck on ebay yet but I keep longing...

  5. Of course there are worse things in the world than not getting your dream Filofax (for now..), we all know that and so does Jennifer, I'm sure. I'm also sure she has experienced worse things than the Baroque episode that broke her heart also(and if she hasn't, then that's a good thing and I'm happy for her!).

But this is her blog, she's expressing her feelings on it and on the sad Baroque day, it was a dream for her that didn't come true - so she felt bad about it and told us. And if -at that moment- it was her "worst nightmare" and "broke her heart", well, that's how she felt and told us - I think that we don't have the right here to judge her feelings and/or reaction.

I don't think that anyone always puts their immediate feelings, joy and/or disappointment about things that just happened into a wider picture all the time ("Oh no, I lost my wallet/broke up with/failed an exam/..., but look at the poor people in [wherever], so I'm ok, because they're doing waaay worse than I do, so I'm good" - seriously? To be honest, I don't think so...

Anyway - don't let this negativity get to you too much, Jenniferxx
And you'll get your Baroque one day, this one was just not meant to be yours!! :)

    1. Couldn't agree more - and if some people think what you're writing on this blog is too shallow/superficial, maybe it's time for them to move on to reading something else!

    2. Completely agree! As I've said earlier, I think, those people who whine about this should just get a life and follow something else instead of reading a blog dedicated to filofax and then whining about it! Obviously, they aren't productively spending their time sorting out either their own imaginations or helping those who do break their hearts!

  6. Jennifer,
I understand the context in which you were broken hearted. I enjoy your blog, so keep on sharing.

  8. I understand the context as well, Jennifer. Your blog is great! We all must remember that we are not here blogging about the serious aspects - i.e. the life and death aspects - of life here - if we were, most wouldn't be stick around reading about it. We're all adults who love the world of Filofax, stationary, pens, organization, etc. and we're here to share our experiences and yes, our dreams, about that world. I, too , have been very disappointed in not being able to get a much-desired Filofax - but there's always tomorrow - hopefully ONE of the new range will be a new dream Filo!! (we can only hope!) Keep smiling! Oh and by the way, I live a PURPLE life as well!

  9. Jennifer,

I can relate to your disappointment! I have been waiting, and waiting and waiting for my personal size Malden. Anyone that commented that thought in reality that was the worse day in your life, really need to broaden their horizons. Seriously, it was an comment you used to describe your disappointment. I guess some people just need to fight and criticize for the sake of doing so. I am new to your blog and love your creativity. Good luck on the job front. I may also be in your situation at the end of the year. I can relate to what you are going through. You will see better days soon!
