The week started off pretty slow, but ended very hectic. I had been keeping myself busy these past few days helping my cousin with decorations for her wedding shower. "No Steve it didn't rain!" It was a great day to get together to celebrate the soon to be wed. I am so happy for them, and I thank them for thinking of me to help them with this special day. We are all looking forward to their wedding in August after being together for 10+ years, needless to say, "It's about dang time!"
On another note: this week I got RAK'd three times! By Nadine, Desiree, and Ellenie! These R-andom A-cts of K-indness are well thought ou…

Filofax Experiment #1 - Washi tape with My Husband

I wanted to see how things would turn out if I let my husband try a hand at decorating Filofax pages. Why not?!? He has all the resources available to him. Washi tape, stickers, masking tapes, markers, pens of every color! and of course, ME!
No, I did not force him to do this! I thank my husband for taking the time to try it out, and yes it does take a bit of time!
**No Filofax pages were harmed during this process**
To make him have some inspiration, I did do some pages next to him to give him some inspiration.
So, can you tell who's pages are whose?

Did you guess it? His is on top and mine is on the bottom!
He went with his trusty FriXion pen in the BOLD 0.7mm. No color coding, just one color.  He had no issues stamping with the MUJI stamp.
I tried to have a man's perspective on this experiment.  My conclusion is that the average male says it takes too much time. They would rather keep it simple and be able to quickly jot down what they need to.
I asked him," I…

Using FC inserts with the Filofax Saffiano

The lovely Judith : (Here YouTube Channel here) has asked me how the Franklin Covey inserts fit inside a Filofax Saffiano. I snapped a few pictures, hoping to show you all what that looks like. I am only using the month on two pages calendar inserts from Franklin Covey.
There is still a tiny bit of space between the strap and the tabs,  but just enough so that the tabs are not bending.
Here is another angle. The tabs are not sticking out at all.

I use to have my fly leaf in the front to hold my FriXion multi-pen. But since the Saffiano's pen loop is on the front cover, I have moved this fly leaf to the middle of my Filofax, so the pen now sits on top of the tabs of the FC inserts.
I hope this helps. I will be doing a one week update of my Saffiano to show you all what I've changed or didn't change to my setup, etc. on  my YouTube channel.

This week I started off by getting a haircut. It has been very HOT here in California lately, so, I chopped off about 6 inches. It seems like a lot, but because my hair was very long to begin with, it doesn't seen different at all.
I am still without a job, so I have been keeping myself busy helping make decorations for my cousin's wedding shower. We had a mini Pom Pom making session at my house! So much fun!

I have moved into my Personal Bright Purple Saffiano Filofax!

Filofax was able to send me one to do a review for all of you!
So, a big thank you to the PR Company of Filofax for sending this sample out to me.

My Filofax Review: Osterley

Here is my review of the Personal Grey Ostereley and the Compact Wine Osterley. A special thanks to Carla, for letting me borrow (Olivia) the Grey Osterley to do this review.

This luxurious Filofax is made out of Italian calf leather in a high gloss, crocodile print.
Here is a look inside.  The interior is has smooth plain leather.  They both have the same interior layout. To the left: A full length pocket with two half pockets and two curved stitched credit card pockets. To the right: Another full length pocket with two curved stitched credit card pockets.  Both also have two (2) part elasticated/part leather pen loops on each side.
Ring sizes:  Personal - 23mm Comapact - 15mm Pocket - 19mm A5- 25mm
Color options: Grey, Brown, Wine, Orange
This is the A5 Orange Osterley

If you look closely you can see some slight rub off on the color of the leather especially on the edges and the corners of the binder.
I have brought this to the attention to Filofax, but because my Compact w…

Update! Update! Update!

Hi everyone! I'm sorry for those of you who are looking for my Decorating Week #19 video. This week seems like it's just flying by. I have a wedding shower I'm helping make decorations for, still job hunting,  and re-designing my blog. On top of that, taking care of my two children and being a housewife. Sorry, I didn't get a chance to film, or if I did, it didn't turn out the way I wanted it to. I don't edit my videos so they have to be done just right. Anyways, I will post my weekly on Sunday as usual. Thank you for visiting! I hope to get a video up again soon with a big annoucement!  So stay tuned....

Last day of the week was Mother's Day here in the US, and other parts of the world. I got to go The Container Store in Old Town Pasadena, CA. I bought some goodies for my Filofax, and some more to share with anyone else. (I will be posting new For Sale items soon!) I got super excited when I saw the MT Washi Tape. Too bad they sold only two rolls for $11+. Way overpriced in my opinion.

Here are some Mother's Day Cards I made for some lovely women in my life.

My Review: Markers with Filofax Paper - Part 2

Here are some markers I tried using on  plain white Filofax paper (left) and cotton cream Filofax To Do paper (right)
 Front
The Markers I used were: Staedtler Triplus FinelinersStabilo Point 88 FinelinersMarvy Uchida Le PenPapermate Flair MarkerRecollections Fine Writer Ultra Fine
First, I tried the cotton cream paper. I noticed there was a difference compared to the white paper. As you can see below, the white paper didn't absorb the ink as much, therefore did not bleed through the paper unlike the cotton cream paper.
Back
The markers which I think are the best on Filofax paper are the Staedtler Triplus Fineliners.  Hope you find this helpful.

Highlight of my week:  It was my youngest daughter's birthday. We celebrated her 2nd birthday with a party last Saturday. This day was her actual birthday. We took her to Peekaboo Playland in my hometown, Eagle Rock. It was an indoor playhouse. The kids had lots of fun. If you are ever in the area, I would definitely recommend taking your kids there for a few hours! The day ended with dinner at The Cheesecake Factory in Old Town Pasadena.

Stamping 101 - Beginner Guide to Stamping

Some of you have never used a stamp before. Some of you are begun stamping, but have no clue what you are doing.
I hope to help guide you to be a better stamper!
So, I have my stamp, now what ink do I chose?
First you need to understand that there are two types of ink. Most ink pads are either dye-based or pigment-based. DYE INKS Dye inks are more of a general purpose ink, which can be used on most kinds of paper. They come in many different colors, and are generally less expensive.  Water Based Dye Ink - are acid-free, but do tend to fade with time and especially sunlight. It is important to note that these inks are not waterproof. Avoid using water-based dye ink with surfaces such as Filofax paper, since it will tend to bleed. These inks are great for producing a water-colored image. (Examples of these are: Hero Arts Shadow Inks, Hero Arts Hero Hues)Distress Ink - Most known ar…
