My mini Review: The NutriBullet

As many of you know, I have going on this journey with my health. Last week, my husband and I did a mini detox for four days straight drinking nothing but juice/smoothies. In those four days we both lost five pounds each.
We used our NutriBullet to extract fruits and vegetables into a liquid form which was better for us to consume rather than eat them. It is made by the same makers of the Magic Bullet. The NutriBullet is bigger than the magic bullet and really pulverizes fruits and veggies into a smooth liquid. No lumps, no chunks!

I was looking to invest in a juicer, but with a juicer you are stripping the good nutrients, fibers, and minerals. We also wanted to use something that didn't require too many parts or cleaning. This little machine works wonders. If you would also like to add nuts, like almonds, and seeds, like flax and chia to your drinks, no problem! It come with a special blade which turns those nuts and seeds into a powder like form.
We purchased our machine f…

Making Small Victories Count

It's easy to obsess over the numbers on the scale when you are losing/gaining weight, but over-fixating on pounds lost/gained can be detrimental to your well-being and happiness.
Don't let the scale be the judge of your success!
As many of you well know, I use a Filofax Personal Organiser to keep track of everything in my life. I would suggest having a section in your planner, Filofax, notebook anything to help you journal and list down some of your personal victories and your goals.
Putting it all on paper will also help you think more fully about your goals. Refer back to them often to help you stay motivated on your journey!
Here are some of mine:
Personal Victories:

1.  Dumped out the garbage in my pantry, fridge, & freezer - You can't eat it if it's not there!

2. Heading towards the pantry to grab a snack, had to fight and I turned the other way around.

3. Trying new vegetables by juicing instead of eating them makes it easier to get it into my body. I w…

Trying To Live a Healthier Life

I have been seeing the popularity of juicing/blending rise within the more recent years due to some popular documentaries such as Fat, Sick, & Nearly Dead, Hungry for Change, FoodMatters, and Forks Over Knives. If you have Netflix, I suggest you watch all of them!

Since April of this year, I have been really kicking my butt about losing weight and getting to a healthier me. I now have two children at my age of 28, and I have never felt so unhealthy in my life.
According to BMI is a measure of body fat based on height and weight,

My Body Mass Index (BMI) is: 27.3
A BMI of 18.5 to 24.9 is considered healthy for adults. A BMI of 25 to 29.9 is considered overweight, while a BMI of 30 and above is considered obese. People with BMIs of 18.5 or less are considered underweight.
I started to have more concern for my weight as I kept hearing comments like, "Uh oh, your gaining too much weight!" and "Are you pregnant?" when I am not!  It isn't until I saw myself in pict…
