See how I decorated these pages here:

Not my best work I think. I had trouble with this one, as I showed on my decorating video.
But hey, no one's perfect!

And with that, I would like to address something with everyone.

If you read this blog or have watched my videos, you know that I recently had some issues with a gift I received from my sister, "The Original" Patent Purple Personal Filofax organiser, which had bad rings.

The issue is very near and dear to my heart because, as most of you know, I have been very loyal to the Filofax brand, and have always done my best to be an advocate for the brand.

It was a bad decision on my part to post the issue publicly and probably wasn't the right approach, but what is done is done. Since then, I received many, many comments which were very hurtful, and judgements which were made towards me, as a person. I felt threatened by some of the comments made.
People were saying some really mean things about me, and completely forgetting about the whole issue.
I decided that the video and the posts had done it's purpose of reaching out to Pens and Leather and Filofax. Thus, I have decided to completely remove them. My intention was not to bring negativity to my videos and blog, or to sabotage either company.
My intent was to bring up an issue which I felt needed to be further looked into. I am not the only person who has been experiencing these ring issues. So, I felt it important to share my issue with the public, especially the Filofax community, so that we encourage anyone who has rings problems to contact Filofax and the retailer directly to report it and so that it may help customers who might have also experienced what I did, and also to help Filofax attend to these issues in a more effective manner.
It saddens me that some people think that I let Filofax "off the hook" because of the outcome of the situation. Some have expressed that I am being a "fraud" or that I tried to hype up the issue to attract more people to my YouTube channel and blog. I acknowledge their concerns.
I honestly thought about leaving the posts up, but it just attracted so much negativity.
I don't think some people understand the time and effort I put into what I do.
To film videos, edit videos, type out blog posts, to take pictures, upload, and edit them, to answer everyone's emails, messages, comments, and so on.
I've worked very hard to get where I am now. I've put my life out there, shared my thoughts and expressions, my highs and my lows. This is me. This is who I am. This is my life.
I apologize if some things I've said and done have offended you, or made you feel uncomfortable.
Unfortunately, I can't please everyone. I am only human, and sometimes we make make mistakes.

I am hoping to now put this whole situation behind me and more forward. I am trying to regain my trust in the Filofax brand so that I may be able to continue my pursuit in informing the public about the Filofax.
I hope for your continued support for my blog and YouTube channel.
I thank you all for your time.
Hope you all have a great rest of the week.

  1. The problem is that you acted completely out of order.

You have subscribers whom you influence. Therefore, going straight to social media instead of being professional and contacting the company direct put you in the wrong.

You clearly are telling people 'don't buy from pens and leather' and you write you are not going to buy another filofax on your you tube video.

These are businesses you are trying to affect. Filofax has been more then generous with you, offering you free filofaxes etc. You get better deal than most us, in a similar position.

Just be grateful pens and leather did not sue you.

    1. Maybe you should share your name before you post such judgmental tripe. It is easy to be hurtful from a keyboard with no name. You haven't put your self out there, yet you are hurtful to people who do. Shame on you.

    2. I totally agree with the above reply. Most blogs don't even allow anonymous comments. A big fat raspberry to you.

  2. You seem to have a lot of haters on your blog, and I can't for the life of me understand why. I love your videos. I love your blog. I think I can safely say, the Philofaxy community enjoys your contributions to the community. Product reviews and opinions are part of the internet, and that will never change. I'm sure you aren't the first one to voice your opinion or share a bad experience with either company. Don't let them get to you. There's a reason they aren't willing to share their names. Keep on blogging and making us awesome videos to watch. :)

  3. You are the one of the best filofax people out there. Some people just dont understand that some things are overboard with what they say. They do not understand on how you are feeling.

  4. Although I have never ordered from Pens and Leather, I have heard many complaints from a number of sources; I have never had a bad experience with Filofax rings, but I do not think I will ever order a binder from either company. For me excellent customer service is almost as important as the product itself. I have bought 2 beautiful Filofax binders from Adspot and swapped one in a Facebook swap. I am grateful to the sellers and swapper for my extremely beautiful and flawless Filos. The Filo community is as good as it gets.

  6. Hi Jennifer,
I am really surprised and saddened to read that people had a negative reaction about your post. I am honestly really shocked. Personally I saw nothing wrong with you sharing your experience, it just so happened to be a negative one. You continuously share positive things about your Filofax, so one would expect that at some point there would HAVE to be a negative one. I appreciate all the information you've shared regarding this experience and how it was resolved. These binders are not cheap, and knowing there is some form of recourse, should a person receive a faulty one, is a comfort to all Filofax owners and buyers. It's a shame that you were attacked, and all I can say is that people need to get over it, because I love your videos, love your blog, love your photos and I can only hope you will continue to keep doing EXACTLY what you've been doing. Thank you.

  8. I am new to this community. Before considering buying anything I scoured the internet and read MANY, MANY (did I say MANY) complaints about the faulty rings. I have seen videos where the recipients of their newly ordered Filofax check its rings FIRST!! You expressed your honest opinion! So, all those haters need to get a life and move along and not read your blog if it upsets them too much that you expressed YOUR OPINION. You didn't ask for their opinion of your opinion! O.k....rant over. Keep producing your videos and blog. We love what you do. Enough said!!

  9. Wow! I am shocked at how people can be so snotty! Haters gotta hate, I guess. Ignore them. Do not let them intimidate you. If someone doesn't like what they see, they don't have to watch it.
PLEASE do not change what you are doing. You are fabulous! That is why you were recognized in the community. And Filofax is just one brand of binder. If they don't like the bad reviews of the rings, then they should do something about it. It is a huge problem for many of their customers. Right now they are barely even acknowledging it. Again, please don't be intimidated by the haters. You are so much better than they will ever be.

  12. I just received my first Filofax and guess what? The ring binder is faulty. I'm so disappointed and anxious to see if I will get a refund for it, or a replacement. I got it from ebay. I just contacted the company I got it from. I am only just realizing that I am not the only person this has happened too, so I do not think I will be purchasing another Filofax anytime soon. They are not exactly cheap so to have such an enormous defect does not make them that attractive! I think that you did well to bring this issue up, because only if the company is notified there is hope that this problem might be somehow resolved in the future!

  13. I purchase my original nude Personal on Filofaxusa.com, and I have the same ring issues as you do, and everytime I flip pages they got stuck. It's just SO Disappointing. I only started to use it right now but I had purchased it for around 27 days. But I don't have any original packaging anymore. I am contacting their customer service and waiting for a reply. If this happens again, I will never use Filofax. $100 for ring gaps..... gotta be kidding me. This is my last purchase, unfortunately I still have two on the way..... But I will not put a dime on Filofax anymore. You have done the right thing letting people know. And it shocked me how many people have had this ring issues after I've done some researches online. I am definitely becoming a anti-filofaxer from now on. And I AM LETTING EVERYONE around me KNOW. LOL
