Such a busy week, starting with my blog and Instagram Giveaways! Again, congratulations to the winners and for everyone who participated. Instead of just receiving for my birthday, I thought it would be fun to give!  I thought it would be fun to decorated my pages this week with Kokeshi dolls. I knew I wanted to incorporated purple somehow (of course, it's my favorite color) by distressing the paper with lavender ink using an ink blending tool. I got the idea for the design from a Japanese Kokeshi notebook which had the look of distressed paper. I drew in a cherry blossom branch using a Pilot Hi-Tec-C Coleto pen in brown ink to outline the branch then colored in with a crayola marker which was just on hand. The Flowers were colored in with a Peachy-Pink colored erasable marker and a Gelly Roll Glittery Pen. All the dates where whited-out because the dates are from 2012 or covered with washi tape. Also, there was too much extra information such as multi-language, calendars, and holidays which were unnecessary, so those were whited out as well. The days and dates were rewritten with markers so that I was able to use my calligraphy. This week, I wrote in a ballpoint pen because I haven't used one in a while.


As for my birthday celebrations, it was a weekend full of events! My actual birthday was on Friday, November 1. Since it was a school day, we didn't celebrate until dinner where we went as a family to my favorite restaurant, Macaroni Grill. For those of you who don't know, it is an Italian Restaurant.
Also, one friend of ours joined in on the celebration. I got to eat my favorite dish which was Mushroom Ravioli. Then, I topped it off with Tiramisu!
 
Part two of the celebrations was on Saturday, which was spent with family.
There's nothing better than being surrounded by the people who love and care about you the most!
                We were filled with lots of food and Filipino dishes such as:
  •  Pancit Bihon (Fried rice noodles)
  • Eggrolls (lumpia)
  •  BBQ sticks
  • Fried Chicken
  • Sweet and Sour Fish,  
  • Pancit Palabok (Rice Noodles)
  • Puto (rice cakes)
  • Karioka (Fried Sweet Rice Balls Dipped in Sweet Coconut Syrup)
  • Sisig (Sizzling Pork) 
  • Dinuguan (Pork Blood Stew)
  • Mom's Salad 
  • Cassava Cake
  • crabs!!! lots of crabs!!!


 and Red Ribbon - Choco Mocha Crunch Cake (my fav!) -
A medley of rich chocolate chiffon cake and mocha marble cream. Two of your favorite flavors made even more unforgettable with sinful honeycomb crunch.


 
Part three of the celebrations was on Sunday, which was spent with my close friends.
Hubby made BBQ sticks on the grill. We also had barbecue pork ribs and leftovers from the day before.
